Photography exhibit opens tonight
OMC Gallery for Contemporary Art, 7561 Center Ave., Suite 31, will hold an opening reception from 6 to 8 tonight for its new photography exhibition.
The show includes a collaboration between Zwelethu Mthethwa, Louis Jensen van Vuuren and Willie Bester from South Africa; an installation of photos of Amador, Spain; the early work Candida Hoefer of Germany and Michael Kenna of England; and one example of the sold-out portfolio “Royal Blood†by Dutch photographer Erwin Olaf.
Platinum prints by master printer and Brooks Institute teacher Nick Dekker, hand-toned photographs by Tom Baril and printer Robert Mapplethorpe will also be on-hand.
Black-and-white works by Harold Chapman, Horace Bristol and Pavel Odvody; German contemporary photographers Andrej Glusgold and Florian Beckers; and works by up-and-coming photographers like Edouard de Pazzi of France and Alvin Booth of the United Kingdom and United States round out the show.
