Family to hold rally for Dane Williams in San Diego
Family and friends of a Huntington Beach man who’s death last year remains a mystery will return to where he was last seen in San Diego Saturday to pass out fliers asking for information and keeping his case alive.
Starting at noon, family and friends of Dane Williams, 23, will walk San Diego streets handing out fliers about the circumstances regarding Williams’ disappearance Jan. 26, 2008. Williams, who was an intern with Costa Mesa-based Hurley International, was last seen leaving the Hard Rock Hotel, 207 5th St. in San Diego, late one evening. He was not seen again until his body was recovered in an alley miles away wrapped in a blanket. An autopsy and toxicology report did not determine a cause of death.
Starting at noon, one group will start across the street from the hotel and spread out with fliers until 5 p.m. From 7 to 10 p.m., another group will do the same, starting at the downtown library, 820 E St. A third group will also move out at 10 p.m, but family members have not determined a starting point.
