Sophomore midfielder Brian Ford and freshman forward Grady Howe each had goals for the CdM (5-5-3, 1-0-1 in league). Goalkeeper Zak Maurer-Erickson had seven saves.

COSTA MESA — Jesus Garcia scored the game-winning goal in the 44th minute and also had an assist in the Orange Coast League game at Estancia Wednesday.

Jose Rodriguez also scored for Estancia (9-1-5, 1-0-1 in league.

LAGUNA HILLS — Senior Elise Molnar scored a team-high three goals for the Sea Kings in their Pacific Coast League opener Wednesday.

Senior Victoria Kennedy had two goals and two assists, while senior Leslee Kaczmarek also scored twice and junior Katie McCormick recorded three steals for CdM (12-0), the top-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll that is seeking its 10th straight PCL title.

Corona del Mar will compete in the two-day Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions that begins Friday.
