Silent auction aims to benefit research
A Newport Beach-based life insurance firm is sponsoring a silent auction to benefit the nonprofit Mikyla-Cure organization, which raises awareness and research money to cure Rett Syndrome.
Fairway Capital will hold the silent auction from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach in an invitation-only event. About 250 businesses were invited to participate. All of the auction’s proceeds will go directly to Mikyla-Cure.
Rett Syndrome afflicts children. Symptoms of the neuro-developmental disorder include loss off speech and motor control, anxiety, seizures, disordered breathing and severe digestive problems.
