District scores well on performance index
The Huntington Beach Union High School District has released its Academic Performance Index (API) scores, which hold schools and districts accountable for their performance.
The index is based on the results of California Standards Tests and California High School Exit Exam tests from the previous year.
There is a target API of 800 for every school in the state; this year, four of the district’s schools exceeded that amount, and seven high schools had their indexes increase by more than 25 points.
As a whole, the district reached 793 points overall.
