Assemblyman helps delivers turkeys to needy

Assemblyman Van Tran teamed up Friday with the Golden State Water Company and several other community organizations to dish out 50 Thanksgiving turkeys for the needy.
“I am blessed this Thanksgiving, as I hope you are as well, to be spending time with my family,” Tran said in a news release. “And with our first daughter born this year, we have a great deal to be thankful for. As we all enjoy turkey and the trimmings this Thanksgiving, we must make sure to take time out of our busy days to help those less fortunate.”
The Someone Cares Soup Kitchen, Share Our Selves, HOPE Family Support Center of Garden Grove, the Orange Coast Interfaith Shelter and the Boys and Girls Club of Stanton were among the nonprofits receiving turkeys. The groups will dole out the turkeys to local needy families.
Tran will be at it again, giving away another 50 birds to another charity for a Turkey Day cookout for the homeless and indigent families, according to his office.
