NEWPORT COAST — Junior Lindsey Kish had 13 kills, 14 digs and five blocks in the Lightning’s 17-25, 19-25, 25-9, 25-19, 15-11 win in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division IV-AA playoffs Thursday night.

Senior Tierney Danner had 10 kills and five blocks, while freshman Tess Wohrle had six kills and three aces for Sage Hill (15-10). Junior Sally Mace added five aces. Sage won the pre-match coin flip and will play host to top-seeded Calvary Murrieta in the quarterfinals Saturday at 7 p.m.

Capistrano Valley

CAPISTRANO VALLEY — Junior Kirby Burnham had 16 kills in the Sailors’ 23-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-23 win in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division I-AA playoffs.

Junior Katey Thompson had 14 kills and six blocks, senior Mary Buckingham added eight kills and 10 digs and freshman Cinnamon Sary had 28 assists for Newport Harbor (24-7). Junior Kelly Heenan (16 digs), senior Carly Cotton (seven digs) and senior Jen Palmquist (four blocks) also contributed to the win.

The Tars lost the pre-match coin flip and will play at Long Beach Wilson in the quarterfinals Saturday at 7 p.m.

COSTA MESA — The Eagles ended their season at 19-8 after their 25-10, 25-19, 25-14 loss in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division I-A playoffs.

CORONA DEL MAR — Seniors Rebecca Beyer and Paige Polizois won all 18 games in their sweep at No. 3 doubles to lead the top-seeded Sea Kings in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs Thursday.

It’s the first time the two played together, said CdM Coach Brian Ricker, who added they would likely stick together for the postseason.

CdM (16-0) advances to Saturday’s second round, when it will visit Mira Costa of Manhattan Beach at 2 p.m.

NEWPORT BEACH — Senior Nelly Radeva won 18 of 19 games to sweep at No. 1 doubles and lead the host Sailors to the first-round victory in the CIF Southern Section Division II playoffs Thursday.

Radeva, who will be with the Sailors for the rest of the team playoffs, improved to 19-0 this season, helping the Tars up their record to 18-3.

Newport Harbor will meet El Modena (9-9 and won on games, 78-72) in Saturday’s second round, scheduled for 2 p.m. The site will be determined by coin flip.Seniors Natalie Small and Jeanne Frei also swept at No. 1 doubles for the winners, for whom Lauren Conway and Cynthia Waterman swept at No. 2 doubles.
