Semi-formal dinner continues OCC’s birthday
OCC is following up its blockbuster 60th anniversary celebration with a gala event at the Westin South Coast Plaza Hotel.
On campus a couple weeks ago, a pirate-clad sky diver jumped from an airplane over the campus, crash landing next to a 1,200-pound white and orange cake.
A more serene event will take place tonight when about 350 people — mostly faculty, staff, board members and alumni — will get together for a semi-formal dinner celebration.
“It’s not going to be quite as big as the 50th anniversary gala. That was a black-tie event,” said college spokeswoman Mary Roda.
Attendees of the nearly sold-out event will get a chance to dance to the Jim Roberts Orchestra and bid in a silent auction. For more go to orangecoastcollege.edu/gala.
