UCLA’s Theriot out for year
UCLA fullback Trevor Theriot, a former Newport Harbor High standout, will be out for the season after suffering a torn ligament in his right knee, the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday.
Theriot, a redshirt junior who earned a full-ride scholarship last year, had compiled 60 yards on three kickoff returns and one catch for five yards through three games.
Theriot, who was named the CIF Southern Section Division VI Co-Offensive Player of the Year in 2004, played as the starting fullback for UCLA last season.
The Bruins play host to No. 24-ranked Fresno State Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the Rose Bowl.
