HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — UC Irvine senior Jane Chin finished second to help the Anteaters finish fourth in the three-day event completed Wednesday at Highlands Ranch Golf Course.
Chin shot eight-under-par 208, the best 54-hole total in UCI history, two strokes behind Denver’s Stephanie Sherlock, who helped the Pioneers claim the team crown. Chin topped the field with 14 birdies and her 2.5 stroke average on par-three holes was also best among all players.
Freshman Joy Trotter shot par 72 in the final round to finish 15th in her first collegiate tournament with a score of 223. Her 4.42 average on par fives led the tournament.
Junior Henna Cho (29th, 231), Patty Chawalitmetha (39th, 234) and freshman Lalita Patipaksiri (45th, 235) also aided the UCI cause.
TCU was second (880) and San Jose State third (888).
The Anteaters return to action at the Coast BMW Intercollegiate, Oct. 6-7 at the Monarch Dunes Golf Course in San Luis Obispo.

COSTA MESA — Freshman outside hitter Briana Fields had nine kills to lead the Pirates’ 25-7, 25-9, 25-10 nonconference triumph Wednesday.
OCC (6-0) returns to action Friday at 6 p.m. at Mt. San Antonio College (7-1).
The Mounties managed to end OCC’s four-year run as Santa Ana Tournament champions with a 25-19 win in the semifinals on Saturday.
