ANAHEIM — Costa Mesa High defeated Magnolia, 14-3, and topped Santa Ana, 16-4, Monday to win its pool and advance to Friday’s quarterfinal against Sunny Hills.
Senior Cody Serrano had five goals and twin brother Dustin Serrano had nine steals against Magnolia.
Dustin Serrano and Joey Dinh each had four goals against Santa Ana.
Goalie Jackson O’Connor had 11 saves, five steals and two assists combined in the two games for the Mustangs (2-2).

NEWPORT BEACH — Senior Liz Kramer and the senior duo of Natalie Small and Jeanne Frei swept at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, respectively, in the nonleague match Monday at Newport Harbor.
The Sailors improved to 5-3.

SANTA ANA — The Lightning, ranked No. 1 in CIF Southern Section Division IV, absorbed their first loss of the season in seven matches in a nonleague contest Monday.
Senior Jaclyn Smrecek and freshman Katie Bick each won two singles sets for the Lightning (6-1).

FOUNTAIN VALLEY – Sophomore Ashley Peters paced the Eagles in the nonleague match at David Baker Golf Course, shooting six-over-par 37 Monday.
Kim Haycraft (42), Jackie Crosson (43), Maritza Gonzalez (47), Jeana DeArakal (50) also scored for the Eagles.
Estancia, fell to 4-2.
