Huntington Beach police seized about $78,000 in goods this weekend at the Golden West College Swap Meet, in a crackdown on counterfeiting and piracy, authorities said.

Police worked with the Recording Industry Assn. of America in the effort, which involved five booths and seven suspects.

Pirated music and videos seized by authorities were valued at about $34,000, while roughly $45,000 of counterfeit apparel and accessories like purses were taken, Huntington Beach Police Department Lt. Brian Tidrick said.

This isn’t the first time the RIAA has worked with police, authorities said. The group routinely monitors swap meets for pirated goods.
