Forum gives chance to meet council candidates
A City Council Candidate Forum will be from 7 to 9 tonight in the City Council Chambers, 2000 Main St.
The event will be broadcast live at 7 p.m. on HBTV-3.
Each candidate will have the opportunity to make an opening statement before answering questions by the moderator.
Each candidate will be given the opportunity to answer each question in the timed response period.
Candidates will also be available afterward to meet with voters.
The nonpartisan event is being sponsored by local members of the League of Women Voters and American Assn. of University Women.
Topics will include candidates’ qualifications and “hot topics†within the city.
The show will be rebroadcast on HBTV-3, and will be streamed on surfcity-hb.org to be viewed any time.
Seven candidates are running to fill three positions on the City Council. Two of them, Don Hansen and Keith Bohr, are incumbents.
Also running are Allen Baylis, Bruce Brandt, Devin Dwyer, Erik Eichler and Dan Kalmick, all Huntington Beach residents.
Mayor Debbie Cook holds the third open seat, but she cannot run this year because of term limits.

Elections for City Council will be Nov. 4.
