POLICE FILES: Laid-off employees of blood testing facility suspected of stealing chemicals

Heil Avenue: One or two laid-off employees from a blood testing business were suspected of stealing some chemicals and samples in the 7200 block at 11:41 a.m. Friday.

AREA 1

Beach Boulevard: Three employees of a restaurant each reported their cars burglarized in the 16000 block at 12:06 a.m. Sunday.

Beach Boulevard: Some teens reportedly ran off with two cases of beer from a store in the 16600 block at 7:24 p.m. Saturday.

Bolsa Chica Street: A vandalized shed that appeared as though someone had jumped on top of it was reported in the 16400 block at 8:54 a.m. Friday.

Computer Lane: Two barbecues were reportedly burglarized from a padlocked trailer owned by a business in the 15500 block at 2:05 p.m. Sunday.

Edgewater Lane: Some bikes were reported stolen out of a closed garage in the 16900 block at 8:11 a.m. Sunday.

Edinger Avenue: $40,000 of copper wiring was reportedly stripped out of a conduit in the 7400 block at 7:23 a.m. Saturday.

Pearce Drive: A resident’s cat reportedly dragged home a bag with a syringe and spoon inside in the 5100 block Sunday. Authorities said they disposed of the materials as a biohazard.

Warner Avenue: Someone reportedly broke in the front window of a business and stole a computer and other equipment in the 6200 block at 9:27 a.m. Friday.

Delaware Street: A Boys & Girls Club was reportedly tagged with graffiti in the 2300 block at 7:01 a.m. Saturday.

Indianapolis Avenue: Graffiti was reported in the 800 block at 8:15 a.m. Sunday.

Main Street: A woman reportedly passed a forged check in the 18500 block at 12:21 p.m. Sunday.

Moontide Circle: Someone setting off fireworks repeatedly was reported in the 20000 block at 9:08 p.m. Saturday.

AREA 5

Brookhurst Street: Shoplifting, with the suspect in custody, was reported in the 18400 block at 8:39 p.m. Saturday.

Santa Cecilia Street: Identity theft was reported in the 18100 block at 10:25 a.m. Saturday.

AREA 6

Brookhurst Street: Vandalism was reported in the 17500 block at 8:34 a.m. Sunday.

La Carta Avenue: A residential burglary was reported in the 10900 block at 6:08 a.m. Friday.

Newhope Street: Vandalism was reported in the 17200 block at 11:20 a.m. Sunday.

Newhope Street and Heil Avenue: Vandalism was reported at 7:13 a.m. Friday.

Slater Avenue: Tampering with an automobile was reported in the 11200 block at 1:46 p.m. Saturday.
