PET OF THE WEEK

“Joe is one of those exceptional cats who is outgoing, friendly and dog-like and also a very affectionate lap cat,” said founder of Community Animal Network DiAnna Pfaff-Martin.

The Community Animal Network is looking to find a home for Joe, an orange and white cat, as his current owner is moving and needs to find Joe a place to live before Sept. 9, the network said.

Even those who can provide only temporary foster care and drive him to and from our weekend adoption events are encouraged to come forward.

“Older animals actually have better house manners, are less destructive and are more affectionate than the tiny and overwhelmingly cute 8-week-old kitten,” Pfaff-Martin said.

The Community Animal Network is happy to report the white cat named Snowball has slowly recovered from his severely broken leg. He is being coaxed to exercise his leg with treats given by his caregiver and is happy and doing well. The organization is grateful to all those who donated.

If you would like to help the Community Animal Network with any part of the last $600 needed to cover the cost of Snowball’s surgery, please mail your check to Community Animal Network, P.O. Box 8662 Newport Beach, CA, 92658 and memo your check nonprofit tax ID 33-0971560.

The Community Animal Network has pet adoptions from noon to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday outside Russo’s Pet Experience in Fashion Island. To volunteer your time, call (949) 533-0411.
