UCI baseball fans can select seats Thursday

UC Irvine baseball will hold a seat-selection party for season-ticket and mini-plan holders Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Anteater Ballpark.

Fans who purchase a UCI baseball season ticket on or before Thursday will receive a special UCI Athletics fleece blanket and have the opportunity to select their own seats for the 2009 season. Seat selection will begin with pre-sales in the order they were received.

Those purchasing tickets Thursday will select after the pre-orders.

Festivities include music, a tour of Newkirk Pavilion, the opportunity to spend a few minutes in the batting cages and complimentary refreshments.

Coach Mike Gillespie, assistant coaches and players will be on hand to talk about the program’s second straight trip to the Super Regionals and the outlook for 2009. UCI finished 42-18 last season, winning the Lincoln Regional.

Season tickets are $150 and mini-plans start at $35. The ‘Eaters’ tentative 2009 home schedule includes UCLA, USC, Long Beach State, Tulane and Nevada.
