Real estate firms to vie in competition to raise funds
More than 480 representatives of Orange County’s real estate firms will compete to raise money for local children’s charities in September.
Buchanan Street Partners, along with the charitable arm of the firm Buchanan Children’s Charities, will host Challenge for Children from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Newport Dunes. The event benefits Court Appointed Special Advocates, Talk About Curing Autism, United Way, Providence Speech and Hearing Center and Miocean.
Participants compete in 48 teams that battle in volleyball, basketball, a run and kayak relay and an obstacle course. Competitions take place most of the day with an awards ceremony and check presentation occurring at 3 p.m.
In 2007, the event raised $573,000 for charities.
