‘Save Trestles’ demonstration Sunday

Surfrider Foundation activists, surfers, hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts will stage a demonstration at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Main Beach to raise awareness about the potential impacts of the proposed Foothill South toll road, which opponents say could harm Trestles Beach, a famous surfing spot in San Diego County.

The group believes the Secretary of Commerce should reschedule the public hearing on the issue that was canceled earlier this summer.

Protesters will be out in force at Main Beach and Broadway. For more information, call Surfrider Foundation, (619) 807-0551 or e-mail [email protected].

Pearson had recused herself from voting on issues before the board because of her affiliation with the City of Laguna Beach.
