Road rage leads to knife drawn in confrontation

A Fullerton man was arrested at a Costa Mesa gas station Wednesday afternoon after police say he pulled a knife on two men he had a confrontation with on the road.
Sergio Guerra, 38, was free on $25,000 bail soon after Costa Mesa police arrested him at about 2 p.m. at an Arco off Newport Boulevard for allegedly approaching two men with a fixed blade, police said.
Police were called to a possible stabbing. They found that the two men, a 28-year-old from Lake Forest and a 53-year-old from Costa Mesa, had wrestled Guerra to the ground without any stabbing, Sgt. Greg Scott said. Guerra had gotten into a road-rage incident with them before they stopped at the Arco, Scott said.
Guerra was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm. Court records show he has previous convictions for resisting police officers and drug and burglary charges.
