‘Tomato King,’ hundreds expected at annual tasting
- Share via
The 7th annual Heirloom Tomato Taste takes place at 9 a.m. today at Roger’s Gardens in Corona del Mar.
The event draws more than 300 people each year; this year, the “Tomato King,” Steve Goto, will be on hand to display his line of “Gotomato” tomatoes.
Up to 100 different categories of homegrown tomatoes will be exhibited, and Roger’s Gardens will put on a taste test of sorts to rate the tomatoes.
Goto will also discuss gardening topics such as soil needs, nutrition, watering and pest control.
Roger’s Gardens, a mainstay of Corona del Mar for more than 30 years, is at 2301 San Joaquin Hills Road. To find out more about the event, call (949) 640-5800 or visit www.rogersgardens.com.
