**CORRECTION: It should have read that police said Dolores Jesus Ortega fled in his wheelchair after the stabbing.
A Garden Grove man accused of stabbing someone in Costa Mesa this week was expected to appear in court today to face allegations of first-degree attempted murder.
Police arrested Dolores Jesus Ortega, 18, at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a call about a fight near Harbor Boulevard and Victoria Street the day before, police said.
Ortega, a suspected gang member, got into a confrontation with a man he knew Monday and threw a beer bottle at him before stabbing him twice in the abdomen and running away, Sgt. Bryan Glass said.
Police suspected Ortega was involved but were unable to locate him until Tuesday, Glass said.
Police found Ortega Tuesday night at ACCESS, a county-run continuation school and arrested him, authorities said.
Ortega was being held at Orange County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.
