Sharks edge Penguins, 3-2

The Sharks opened up a 2-0 lead on the Penguins in their Adams Division match Monday and went on to post a 3-2 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Cole Obenauer scored all three goals for the Sharks, each unassisted. Geoffrey Campbell recorded 24 saves.

Brody MacDonald first put the Penguins on the scoreboard with a goal in the second period, then fed Dylan MacDonald for their final score in the third period.

Matthew Gomez had 18 saves.

Norris Division

Free Style 6, Hot Shots 5: Neither team was able to score in the opening period but combined for 11 goals over the final two periods.

Free Style held a 4-2 lead heading into the final period.

Jack McKeown scored a match-best four goals for the winners and Sammy Harju scored twice. Jimmy Duff and Kyle Barrett each had two assists and Noah Gealy had one assist.

Marlin Liberatore registered 16 saves.

Jordon Corwin scored three goals to go along with an assist to lead the Hot Shots. Connor McCormack and Ryan Armstong each had a goal and assist.

Weston Bechtold had 21 saves.
