PET OF THE WEEK

Brutus, a purebred, de-clawed Bengal cat needs a new home because his owners got divorced and wanted to give the cat away. His caretakers say he is friendly.

Bengals, a breed first created in the 1970s, are a cross between a wild Asian Leopard cat and a domestic cat.

Anyone interested, with a good home and no other cats, can attend his showing between noon and 4 p.m. Saturday in Fashion Island at the pet event outside of Russo’s Pet Experience.

Other animals, including two flame-point Siamese kittens, Gucci and Versace, will also be shown at the adoption event.

Community Animal Network is working to raise funds for an emergency surgery needed by a 6-year-old cat named Snowball. Snowball’s family moved, and he was injured in the process.

Dr. Diane Craig of Veterinary Surgical Specialist in Tustin has offered to perform the surgery for the rescue price of $2,000, and has given Community Animal Network 30 days to raise the funds.

If you would like to donate, mail a check to Community Animal Network, P.O. Box 8662 Newport Beach, CA, 92658 and memo your check nonprofit tax ID 33-0971560.
