GREER’S BEST BUYS:

The Camp in Costa Mesa just opened milk+honey, a little sanctuary for all things frozen and sweet. Owner Jee Shin offers tasty shaved ice, tart frozen yogurt, blended drinks and high-quality organic coffees and teas.

The shaved ice is a Japanese version called kakigori, a mixture of milk and honey on a bed of flaky shaved ice with your choice of six flavors ranging from mango to passion fruit ($3.75 to $4.75).

The frozen yogurt tastes similar to a Pinkberry-type tart yogurt, only this one is less creamy and more flavor comes through from the natural yogurt. And a seasonal flavor debuts soon ($3.50 to $4.25). Customize your yogurt with 24 toppings to choose from including fresh fruits, gummy bears, sweet red azuki beans, carob chips and more.

The blended drinks are a must: green tea latte cooler, vanilla chi cooler, orange creamsicle, açai berry energizer and more ($3.95 to $4.95). Try a watermelon lemonade blended fresh every day.

Milk+honey is open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 2981 Bristol St. in Costa Mesa. For more information, call (714) 708-0092 or visit www.milkandhoneyshop.com.
