Vanian, Carol Marie, 66, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2008 surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 29, 1942 in Rockford, IL to Bill and Esther Rehnberg, she graduated from Wheaton College in 1964 and received her Master?s degree from Cal State Los Angeles in 1968.
Carol will be remembered as an amazing teacher who expressed and modeled exuberant joy in all of life. She shared her faith in Christ as a Bible teacher and mentor through Bible Study Fellowship, MOPS, and Thursday Morning Women?s Bible Study at Mariner?s Church. She also served as treasurer for the international charity Love for Romania.
Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Carol was touched by her kind and beautiful soul and joyful spirit. Whether it was her infectious smile, her beauty inside and out, her classic elegance, her love for family and friends, or her spiritual gift of encouragement, she was and always will be loved and adored by everyone who was blessed to know her
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dr. Daniel Vanian; daughters, Lisa Wolff, Heather Vanian, and Tracy Vanian; son-in-law Andrew Wolff; brother, Jon Rehnberg; and a large extended family.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Mariner?s Church in Newport Beach. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Love for Romania or Life Outreach International.
