WEATHER ALERT: Stay cool this weekend

A warning has been issued by the National Weather Service that high temps are expected to continue through Saturday.

This heat advisory is targeted at the elderly and the very young who might be much more sensitive to heat and thus at greater risk. Individuals who fall into this category should:

 -Be especially careful by drinking plenty of water

 -Find a cooling center for the day if no air conditioning is available in your living quarters

 -Ask a friend or relative to check on the elderly frequently

Temperatures in Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley are expected to reach 88 degrees Saturday. People and pets should not be in enclosed vehicles without air-conditioning for any reason as temperatures can quickly climb to dangerous levels in just a few minutes.
