City sponsors rocking out in the park

Concerts in the park will be starting up again in Costa Mesa on July 8, meaning plenty of blankets and picnic baskets on the lawn at Fairview Park as the community gathers to see some diverse musical acts.

This will be the ninth summer Costa Mesa has sponsored the concert series.

Bands performing this time around will play classic rock, Latin/classical guitar, Oldies/rock and steel drum/Caribbean.

Concerts will start at 6:15 p.m. and are free to the public.

Food vendors and face painters are also expected to join the musicians, and games and activities will be set up on the premises.

Dogs are allowed as long as they are on leashes, but alcohol is prohibited.
