Seniors named to All-CIF boys’ volleyball team

Huntington Beach High senior outside hitter Tony Ciarelli and Edison senior outside hitter Carl Eberts have been named to the 2008 All-CIF Southern Section LA 84 Athletic Award Division I boys’ volleyball team.

Ciarelli is one of nine players to be selected to the first team. He and Woodbridge senior setter Scott Liljistrom are the only players from the Sea View League to make the first team.

Eberts was one of nine players to make the third team. He, along with Los Alamitos senior middle blocker Matt Markel and senior libero Andrew Thomason, were three Sunset League players to make the third team.

The Sunset League placed eight players on the three Division I teams — the most of any league.
