Drummond, Guite earn all-league baseball honors

Two members of the Huntington Beach High baseball team have been named to the 2008 All-Sea View League baseball team.

Seniors Calvin Drummond and Randy Guite made the all-league squad. Drummond, a pitcher, was a first-team pick. He had a 5-3 record and was named to the South squad for the North-South All-Star baseball game.

Guite, a third baseman, hit .429 and was named to the second team.

“It was nice to know that I had a dominant pitcher on the mound every Friday,” Huntington Coach Benji Medure said. “Calvin always gave us a chance to win.

“Randy made himself into a great third baseman and a very productive hitter. His competitiveness sparked us this year.”

The Oilers went 12-13 this past season and 7-8 in six-team Sea View League for fourth place.
