Former aide pleads guilty to sex with student, 14

A 25-year-old former Ocean View High School teacher’s aide is headed to jail after pleading guilty to sex with a 14-year-old student.

Kristopher Charles Maw of Huntington Beach was sentenced Friday to 180 days of jail and five years’ probation for his crimes. He pleaded guilty to oral copulation and sexual penetration by a foreign object of a minor younger than 16, as well as unlawful sexual intercourse, according to court records.

Maw met the girl while working at the school as an assistant to the band teacher, prosecutors said.

As part of the plea deal, three other counts against Maw were dismissed.
