Sapphire Laguna, 1200 S. Coast Hwy., has prepared a special Father’s Day menu, which will be served from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
At $48 per person, patrons receive an appetizer of Thai marinated jumbo shrimp with chilled sesame noodles, cucumber, mango and chili-lime vinaigrette.
Main course options include eggs benedict with Canadian bacon or house-smoked salmon; beef tenderloin BLT; roast lingcod with herb bruschetta and tempura asparagus; Charmoula lamb burger; or chicken and artichoke fricassee.
Dessert choices are Napoleon ice cream pie, bananas Foster or brown butter hazelnut torte.

RECLINE AND CONQUER
The Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa, 3050 Bristol St., Costa Mesa, is bringing back its popular King for a Few Hours lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
At the event, dads will be seated in recliners and armed with remote controls, while they help themselves to baby back ribs, buckets of beer and ice cream.
A putting green, cigar area and big screen TVs will also be strategically placed throughout the dining area.

Showing at the Orange County Performing Artscenter at 8 tonight, and 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, the musical features No Square Theatre founder Bree Burgess Rosen, along with high school-age kids from the area’s best arts schools and conservatories.

Laguna Culinary Arts, 845 Laguna Canyon Road, will offer a Ribs & Rib Eye Roast for Dad class at 10 a.m. Sunday, presented by Chef Octavio.
Two people will learn to prepare German potato salad, baby back ribs with Jack Daniels barbecue sauce, rib-eye rib roast with barbecue spice rub, grilled vegetables and a grilled fruit and mascarpone tart, while enjoying imported beer.

HOG WILD
For those seeking a more active experience, this year’s El Moro Poker Ride at Crystal Cove State Park will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday.
Demo bikes will be available from local bike shops; the group will hold a kids bike safety clinic and backcountry ride, while adults are treated to Fat Tire ale and hot dogs.
On the annual ride, participants draw a playing card at each of at least five checkpoint, and the best and worst hands win prizes.
