Alleged serial rapist faces charges for local assaults
A Stanton man previously charged with three rapes and a murder, including two sexual assaults in Costa Mesa, is facing additional charges for two new rapes and a second murder in Costa Mesa, prosecutors said Thursday.
Waymon Livingston, 24, was originally charged with raping a woman in an Anaheim parking lot Aug. 21, 2005; another woman, a motel housekeeper, in Stanton Oct. 25, 2006; and a third woman, a private masseuse who he allegedly choked till she passed out and then raped in a Costa Mesa motel room May 7, 2007, prosecutors said.
After being arrested, DNA also linked him to the killing of Melissa Ann Gonzalez, a Sacramento resident, in an Anaheim motel room Sept. 9, prosecutors said.
The new charges accuse Livingston of sexually assaulting a woman in his car in Costa Mesa Sept. 14, 2006, raping another woman on Oct. 10 in a Fullerton hotel room, and suffocating Mary Jane Clark in a Costa Mesa hotel room with a pillow.
He faces two counts of murder with sentencing enhancements and five counts of forcible rape. He is scheduled to be arraigned June 26.
