The Laguna Beach chapter of National Assistance League installed a new slate of board members May 12.

Under the direction of President Ann Hyde the group is looking forward to a new year of philanthropic good works.

During the last fiscal year the chapter returned more than $259,340 to the local community through programs that included the League’s Early Intervention Program for developmentally delayed infants, scholarships, a grant to the Senior Center, the Hug-A-Bear program, aid to the CSP Youth Center and support to the Shea Therapeutic Riding Center, according to spokeswoman Dixie Henry.

An additional program, called Operation School Bell, benefited Even Start, San Onofre School and the Chapters for Children program with clothing and school supplies for Camp Pendleton children and needy local children.

The League also operates the Turnabout Thrift Shop at 526 Glenneyre St.
