Newport-Mesa Unified School District business was all kinds of fun for board members and district administrators Tuesday night.
The school board awarded and acknowledged numerous staff, faculty and students at the meeting, one of the last before summer vacation comes.
The district awarded its Superstar awards to 27 district staffers during a special early session, with awards ranging from teachers to administrators to custodians for their exemplary work throughout the year.
The district also acknowledged stellar work by various student groups, such as the Corona del Mar High School Human Relations group, the Orange Coast Middle College High School’s robotics team, which proceeded to show off its robot’s abilities, and handed out scholarships to many students.
