NCAA championships

TULSA, Okla. — Newport Beach resident Kaes Van’t Hof, competing as a senior at USC, upset No. 2-seeded Greg Oullette of Florida in the first round of the NCAA singles championships Wednesday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Van’t Hof, the Pac 10 singles champion, knocked off Oullette, 6-4, 6-2, to advance to today’s round of 32.

Van’t Hof and USC sophomore Robert Farah, the Pac 10 doubles champions, open doubles play today as the No. 2 seed. They meet Ed Corrie and Kellen Damico of Texas in the round of 32.
