Transportation manager moves up; new one named

Raja Sethuraman will be Costa Mesa’s new transportation manager, replacing Peter Naghavi, who was promoted to director of Public Services.

Sethuraman’s duties will vastly increase from his previous post as traffic engineer, according to Naghavi, who served 18 years as transportation manager. Reporting to the City Council and interacting with Caltrans and the Orange County Transportation Authority will be among Sethuraman’s duties.

“Now he’s responsible for managing the entire gamut of items related to traffic,” Naghavi said.

Sethuraman has spent the past eight years trying to solve Costa Mesa’s traffic quandaries, and Naghavi said he has no doubt that Sethuraman will be able to handle his new tasks.
