Laguna Beach Artist Selected to Show at Louvre, Paris
Laguna Beach has always been known for it’s wealth of art, but now the city can claim another honor as the home of one of only twelve American-based artists to be selected to show at the famous Louvre Museum in Paris, France.
The Karen Lynne Gallery of Beverly Hills, one of the galleries where Verbicky’s large, vibrant paintings are shown, has been chosen for the second year to participate in the only American Delegation ever to be invited to exhibit in the esteemed Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts (SNBA) exhibit at the Carrousel de Louvre in Paris, France.
This is a unique honor, for until last year, America has never been represented in the hundred-plus years the SNBA has been in existence. Following last year’s great success, the SNBA, whose judges once included such famous artists as Auguste Rodin, has chosen the work of James Verbicky to be among those exhibited in December of 2008.
Verbicky’s 48 x 70 abstract expressionist painting entitled “Awake Concrete” was chosen out of his vast array of work to be shown in December of this year in Paris. In addition to the Karen Lynne Gallery, Verbicky’s work is currently being shown in the RE Welch Gallery in Palm Springs and the Madison Gallery of La Jolla.
