Masters Meet

LONG BEACH — Corona del Mar High senior Yutaro Yamashita won the boys’ 200-yard freestyle at the meet Tuesday at Belmont Plaza.

Yamashita’s time of 1 minute, 40.65 seconds set a Masters Meet record. The meet is in its third year. Yamashita was also sixth in the 100 butterfly, in 51.08 seconds.

Newport Harbor’s 200 free relay team of David Linden, Blake Kelly, Myles Christian and Clinton Jorth placed third in 1:27.12. Jorth, a senior, also had a pair of top-10 individual finishes, finishing sixth in the 100 free (47.13) and eighth in the 200 free (1:44.67).

CdM’s Adam Seagondollar placed fifth in the diving competition with 279.90 points.

CdM’s Sarah Furgatch was eighth in the girls’ 200 free (1:53.72), as was sophomore Michael Liao in the boys’ 100 breast (58.63). John Kim placed 10th in the 200 individual medley, in 1:55.84, and was 15th in the breast (59.92).
