UCLA 4, USC 3
STANFORD — Junior goalie Brittany Fullen made six saves and junior Anne Belden scored a goal to help the top-seeded Bruins earn their fourth straight NCAA championship Sunday at Stanford University.
Fullen, out of Corona del Mar High, upped her school single-season saves record to 237 to help the Bruins (33-0) forge leads of 3-1 after one period and 5-1 at halftime.
Belden, who scored twice in UCLA’s semifinal win, is a former standout at Newport Harbor High.
USC junior goalie Tumua Anae, another former CdM High star, had eight saves for the No. 3-seeded Trojans.
USC’s roster also includes junior driver Jordan Anae (CdM), sophomore driver Kally Lucas (Newport Harbor) and freshman Katie Indvik (CdM).
USC finished its season with a 21-8 record.

WORCESTER, Mass. — The Orange Coast College men’s varsity eight finished third in the grand final and the Pirates’ men’s novice eight won the grand final Sunday at Lake Quinsigamond.
The varsity eight completed the 2,000-meter course in five minutes, 59.2 seconds, nearly three seconds behind victorious Trinity College (5:56.4). Michigan was second with a time of 5:58.2.
The OCC novice eight boat topped the field with a clocking of 6:15.5, besting runner-up Williams College by a whopping eight-plus seconds.
The victorious novice eight boat included Harrison Taylor, Jeff Powers, Liam Saunders, Patrick Avelino, Tommy Feck, Jonathan Hall, Roscoe Fowler and Kevin Rickon.
The team is coached by Pat Gleason.

NCAA West Regional
LINCOLN, Calif. — The UC Irvine women’s team finished 14th Saturday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club.
UCI had a three-round total of 904, which was 49 shots behind winner USC in the 21-team field.
Senior Selaneé Henderson finished 17th with a 54-hole total of four-over 220 to lead UCI.
Mariko Makabe was 49th with a score of 226, Kim Lorenzana was 56th at 228, Patty Chawalitmetha was 89th at 235 and Hillary Packard was 94th at 237 for the Anteaters.
