Girls’ under-14

Select Division: Page Keys scored the first goal on a line drive past two defenders. Tamera Myers followed up with a goal of her own off the front post in the third quarter. Megan Farley and Andrea Ocampo played great on defense, while Sara Bradbury, Gigi Light and Stephanie Joyce helped aid the attack for the win.

Girls Under 10

Little Breakers 3, Costa Mesa 3: The Little Breakers’ Zoe Conley scored first with a powerful kick.

Goalkeeper Grace Vandervort had two terrific saves against Costa Mesa. Setting up several advances down the field was Paige Fults with her long throw-ins. Late in the second quarter, Haley Martinez set up Faith Harper’s perfectly executed lob shot, just over the Costa Mesa defense and the goalkeeper, to bring the score to 2-1. Costa Mesa scored again just prior to halftime. Mackenzie Porteous kept on the attack by feeding Jackie Singer up the right side for several runs.

Zoe scored once more for the Little Breakers.

Ruby’s 10, Chamberlain Group 3: Ruby’s used timely hitting and strong pitching to defeat the Chamberlain Group. Key hits for Ruby’s included singles by Jake Hastings, Logan Miller, Tommy Brooks and Max Mulcahy which led to four first inning runs.

In the third inning, hits by Brian Wagner and Matthew Deverian helped produce five additional runs. Pitchers Mulcahy, Wagner and Neil Levecke limited the opposition to four hits. Ruby’s made no errors and walked only two batters the entire game. Calder Maloney and Trey Wood also singled.

Pinto National Division

Ticon Construction 10 Creative Play 1: Luc Stuka had four hits and drove in three runs for Ticon Construction. Julian Rodgers had two hits and four RBIs and Joe Fuller reached base three times and scored twice. Scotty Ryder, Justin Shollin and Scott Siecinski also added hits. Stuka and Ryder each pitched two scoreless innings and Shollin added a great defensive play at shortstop, catching a line drive off the bat of Brent Valentine. Eric Purcell had a big hit in the sixth inning with two outs to keep the inning going. Ronan Ferrentino, Austin Payne, Scott Siecinski also contributed.
