Architects will meet to discuss design of city hall

The newly formed Newport Beach City Hall Design Committee will meet for the first time 6 p.m. today in the Friends Room of the Newport Beach Central Library, 1000 Avocado Ave. The committee will oversee and conduct an architectural design competition for a new Newport Beach City Hall.
The City Council selected former Newport Beach Planning Commission Chairman Larry Tucker as the committee chairman and appointed four architects and one landscape architect to the committee March 25. The appointees are:
• Andy Bowden, landscape architect
• Rush Hill, architect
• Walt Richardson, architect
• Stephen Sandland, architect
• Linda Taylor, architect
