Artist studio tour day approaches
The Sawdust Art Festival will hold its annual Art Studio Tour on April 12.
Every April, the artists of Laguna Beach join together to participate in the Sawdust Art Festival’s Art Studio Tour, opening their private studios for an “up close and personal” look into their creative worlds.
“The Art Studio Tour offers a rare chance to meet artists in their studios and get a glimpse at what their creative processes “” and lives “” are like,” said Tour Director Rebecca Meekma.
“Some studios are state-of-the-art spaces while others are in hilltop homes with incredible views. It’s really interesting to see how the studio setting can inspire the art produced.”
Morning, afternoon and full-day tours are offered; all tours begin and end at the Sawdust Art Festival. Tours include guided transportation to the studios; visits with each artist including art demonstrations, discussion and the opportunity to purchase; and admission to the Artists’ Reception, 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Sawdust’s Gallery 935.
Participating artists include Brian Allan, Painting; John Barber, Art Glass; Olivia Batchelder, Silk Painting & Clothing; Donita Lloyd, Painting; Jesse J Miller, Mixed Media ““ Surf ArtSkip Roma, Chinese Brush Painting; Marsh Scott, Encaustics and Sculpture; Rachel Uchizono, Painting; and Sandra Weir, Water Colors.
To purchase tickets, call (949) 494-3030 during business hours. Morning or afternoon tour tickets are $45; full-day tours are $80. Visit www.SawdustArtFestival.org for additional information.
