7 girls make league team

Two members of the Laguna Beach girls’ soccer team garnered key awards on the 2008 All-Orange Coast League girls’ soccer team.
Senior Laura Renault was named co-MVP of the league along with senior Stacey McDaniels of Costa Mesa.
Senior Claire Rubel shared the defensive MVP award with Costa Mesa junior Kristina Roche.
Five other Breakers “” Courtney Capobianco, Holden Penney, Nikki Clark, Jackie Csira and Kelsey Peterson “” made the all-league team.
The squad was selected by the four league head coaches: Bill Rolfing of Laguna Beach, Dan Johnston of Costa Mesa, Steve Crenshaw of Estancia and Judy Krikorian of Calvary Chapel.

Laguna Beach also handed out awards at its team banquet March 6.
Capobianco capped her career by becoming the No. 2 scorer in school history. At the junior varsity level, the program posted an undefeated league championship campaign for the second-straight year and the frosh/soph team won its first league championship.
