Senior Art Escapes offered in April
The City of Laguna Beach, Senior Services and LOCA (Laguna Outreach for Community Arts) is presenting a new slate of free Senior Art Escapes Workshops.
The Art of Drawing will be held April 9, 16 and 23. The class includes simple still life; discussion of basic theory of drawing by artist/instructor Gayle Foley; set-up of a still life in a formal series of drawings designed to improve drawing skills; and a living model for students to draw. Drawing pencils and paper will be used for all three classes. Emphasis on hand-eye coordination will be the focus.
All classes will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Laguna Beach Senior Center-lower level. Cost is free and space is limited. Call (949) 464-9535.

Caregiver support group meets
Spouses, family members and friends or anyone who is helping to care for an older adult are invited to join a support group, an informal place to share resources and find solutions.
The facilitator is Tera Gabriel, MSW, ACSW, a professional Geriatric Care Manager. This group is free, open to all caregivers and no RSVP is required. The group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Laguna Beach Senior Center upper level. For directions call (949) 497-2441.
