Late homers give Cards win

Home runs by Andrew Bogard and Derrick Dustin highlighted a late push by the Cardinals who scored a 7-3 victory over the Angels in Majors Division play at Huntington Valley Little League.
Both home runs were hit in the fifth inning as Bogard delivered a two-run home run followed by a solo shot by Dustin. The blasts upped the Cardinals’ lead to 7-1.
In other Majors Division action:
Dodgers 14, Diamondbacks 5
A nine-run second-inning by the Dodgers wiped out a 3-2 deficit and sent them on toward a big win over the Diamondbacks.
CJ Cortez hit a two-run double, Jake Weiser smashed a pair of two-run home runs and Adam MacBeth hit a solo homer.
George Gleason and Andrew Geiger shared pitching duties for the Dodgers.

In Juniors League action
Angels 3, Braves 2
Cole Frazelle, Derek Quinn and Dylan Eskridge combined on the mound to help get the Angels past the Braves.
The Angels’ Bobby Tomlinson made a key play in the game when he caught a hard hit ball down the third base line with runners stationed at second and third base in the fourth inning.
Lance Siegel pitched a complete game for the Braves and allowed two hits and a walk with eight strikeouts.
In Minor A Division action
Dodgers 9, Yankees 9
The Dodgers scored four runs over the first two innings to get a jump start but the Yankees rallied back for six runs in the third inning and the teams ended up playing to a tie.
Jake Laine drove in the tying run for the Dodgers in the sixth inning.
