COSTA MESA — Senior pitcher Jennifer Olvera improved to 12-0 after striking out eight batters in seven innings in the Lions’ 2-1 win in the first game of a Golden State Athlete Conference doubleheader Tuesday.
Vanguard lost, 4-0, in the second game. April Glenn and Angela St. Croix each drove in a run for Vanguard (26-8, 4-4 in conference) in the victory.

COSTA MESA — The Pirates swept their singles sets, staying unbeaten in the Orange Empire Conference match Tuesday.
Costa Mesa High products Jasmine Mathieson and Evelyn Wallace, as well as teammates Brittnie Furuvald, Brittany Bass, Kalin Eshelman and Emily Garcia, all won in singles. Bass and Furuvald, as well as Wallace and Eshelman, had doubles wins for OCC (12-0, 7-0 in conference).
Vanguard 9, Biola 0
COSTA MESA — The No. 4 Lions posted a dominant Golden State Athletic Conference win, not losing more than two points in any set Tuesday at Vanguard.
Hana Jurcovicova, Damia Donkervoort, Jelena Jovic, Betyel Tesfa, Olivia Amstad and Anna Valingsten won in both singles and doubles for Vanguard (9-2, 4-1 in conference).

COSTA MESA — Vanguard easily won each set in the Golden State Athletic Conference match Tuesday at Vanguard.
The No. 16 Lions (6-5, 2-2) received both singles and doubles wins from Florian Lemke, Dominic Stockler, Tino Brodar, Greg Chevalier, Garrett Gillon and Blake Lamberth.
