Girls Inc. will give a big hand to two Newport-Mesa students at its National Scholars Reception on Tuesday.
The organization is presenting two female students a total of $17,500 in scholarship money at next week’s event.
Nadia Ensastegui, a senior at Estancia High School, will receive $15,000 while Julieth Zapata, a junior at Costa Mesa High School, will get $2,500.

Julieth is looking to attend Cal State Fullerton to pursue women’s studies.
To qualify for the awards, applicants had to be a member of Girls Inc., be a junior or senior in high school and have a minimum grade point average of 2.8.
