Surf and clean

The Oak Street Surf Contest and Beach Clean-up sponsored by Soul Surfing’s Chris Williams was March 9 under sunny skies, with fun waves and a huge crowd of local families.

Before the tournament, kids swept through the beach picking up trash under the auspices of Adopt-A-Beach Cleanup organizers.

For many it was their first surfing competition. The kids surfed, skimmed, bodyboarded and softboarded until the awards ceremony and raffle.
