Newport Beach police will stage “Fight Cancer with the Cops” Thursday night at Ruby’s Diner to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life campaign.
The 911 Blue Crew, made up of Newport Beach police officers, will take over serving duties from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Corona del Mar restaurant.
The establishment will donate 20% of profits made during the fundraising event to the American Cancer Society on behalf of the 911 Blue Crew team.
The team is hoping to raise $3,000 for the campaign.
Guests should bring fliers for the event, which can be picked up at the police department, City Hall or by calling investigator Shontel Sherwood at (949) 644-3667.
Ruby’s is at 2505 E. Coast Hwy. in Corona del Mar.
