Anteaters’ Bartlett named Big West Player of Week

UC Irvine freshman Brooke Bartlett was named Big West Conference Player of the Week in women’s tennis.
Bartlett was 4-0 in singles matches for the week and clinched UCI victories against Nevada, San Diego State and San Francisco.
Bartlett was also 2-1 in doubles during the week.
She won a pair of three-set singles matches at No. 5 singles, topping Nevada’s Lais Ogata, 6-2, 5-7, 7-5 on Feb. 25 and besting San Diego State’s Sisse Nielsen, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3, on Feb. 27.
She defeated USF’s Jenny Sperry, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 4 singles on Feb. 29, then outlasted Marah Calvo of St. Mary’s,. 6-4, 6-7, 6-4, at No. 4 singles on March 3.
She teamed with junior Ali Borowicz to post No. 3 doubles wins against St. Mary’s and USF. Bartlett is the first Big West Player of the Week for the Anteaters this season.
The Anteaters play host to Penn Monday at 1:30 p.m.
